In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, artificial intelligence is changing our society and life, and the essential material for the realization of artificial intelligence is big data. Accordingly, our society is looking for competent big data experts. The Major of Big Data Convergence at Pukyong National University has faculty members from various majors, including marine environment, statistics, industrial engineering, and computer science. The major provides an in-depth curriculum in the field of big data and various opportunity to participate research projects.

Goals

The Major of Big Data Convergence has its goals of training big data experts with data analysis skills and industry knowledge who can provide insight to national and regional industries. To this end, the major aims to develop students’ ability to use various structured and unstructured big data around us and ability to apply big data analysis methodologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, in practice. In addition, the major aims to support students to grow into practical data experts with problem-solving skills by educating them on the characteristics and application methods of big data for various industries.
